ground.work by SUSAN SCOTT

We are excited to welcome Litchfield artist Suzan Scott for a solo show with an opening reception on November 20th from 6 - 9 pm. at Serendipity Gallery in Litchfield, Connecticut.

"“I have created a way of art making that combines my interests in art, nature, and science. Nature provides the impetus for the direction of my work. New visual information constantly presents itself to me. Close observation and awareness of the moment play a big part in my art 'practice'.

I follow the hours, the seasons, the cycles of the year, attempting to capture both the change and the changeless in the natural world. The work begins outdoors with color sketches and drawings. A degree of abstraction removes much of the obvious, allowing me a more open interpretation. In the studio I work with visual memory and intuition to create work that is not time or site specific but evocative, specific only to itself".
